Ashton Park (MS) Celebrates Good Grades

Good grades are very important, so Ashton Park decided to throw a party to celebrate those kids who made the first quarter honor roll.  All the children were invited for snacks and drinks, and the ones who brought their report card showing their A’s and B’s, received a certificate and a goodie bag for a job well done. There were lots of smiles to go around as these kids deserved the recognition for their hard work.  Great job Ashton Park!

Park at Kirkstall Holds Art and Crafts Day

The Park at Kirkstall set up an arts and craft station a couple of days before Halloween and let the kids come in to decorate, design and create their own mosaic pumpkin artworks.  There was a great turnout, and both the children, Property Manager Jennifer Stapleton and the staff had a great time. Of course, there were snacks and drinks for everyone to enjoy while creating the masterpieces!

    Decoration Contest Season

With Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, there were plenty of door and porch/balcony decorating contests this quarter. For some, winning was for bragging rights, while for others, there was a small prize that came with the victory. Whatever the result, though, these contest bring a sense of community to the properties and make our residents feel part of something larger. Great job to all who held these contests!

Fayetteville Gardens Kids Bowl with Cops

Youth from Fayetteville Gardens participated in the 5th annual Cops N’ Kids Bowling Event in November. It was a great experience for the kids, many of who had never been bowling before! The Fayetteville Police Department provided transportation, pizza and drinks, as well as picked up the tab for the bowling. The event created a way to get the children involved in a fun activity that would allow for positive interactions with law enforcement. Included was a raffle in which some of the kids won big prizes, like bikes and skateboards.  Property Manager Ethel King even got to meet Fayetteville, North Carolina’s, first female police chief!

Communities Get Into The Holiday Spirit

Christmas time is a chance to break out the decorations and embrace the Christmas Season.  Some communities, like Avalon (Columbus, GA) and Park Ridge Apartments (Jackson, TN), took it to the next level and had their grounds looking incredible.  Avalon Property Manager Penny Adkinson had white lights on the bushes and trees surrounding the leasing office, an arc of red and green balloons at the entrance, and lighted candy canes lining the sidewalk. Meanwhile, Park Ridge Property Manager Steve Alley and Leasing Consultant Martha Melton decorated the leasing office with snowflakes hanging from the ceiling, a Christmas tree complete with presents underneath in the corner and hot cocoa and cake available for everyone.  Plenty of others decorated for the holidays, and everyone had their properties looking festive.  Great job to all!

Avalon Children Shop with A Cop

Columbus (GA) Police Department took several Avalon children shopping this Christmas season for their annual “Shop with a Cop” program.  The kids got to ride in cop cars and in a police motorcade to the stores, where they got to spend $150 donated by the police department. One of the officers who has participated in the program since its inceptions said that “this was by far the best year since I’ve been doing this program with the city.” What a great program that made these kids’ Christmas that much better.

Piedmont Park and Park Pines Participate in Halloween Event

The Piedmont Park and Park Pines office staffs were part of the Hattiesburg Public School District’s Trunk or Treat Event during Halloween.  Senior Property Manager LaQuetta Jones, Leasing Consultant Tamara Jones, and Park Pines Assistant Manager Shardae Young were in charge of the Cupcake Walk and supplied 25 individually packaged cupcakes and several large bags of candy.  The event called for the vendors to dress up, so LaQuetta, Tamara and Shardae went as the “Three Good Witches,” as they passed out flyers, brochures and business cards to parents, teachers and the rest of the public that attended the event. This team was giving back to their community and creating an opportunity to outreach market as well!  Great job!

Ashton Park (MS) Sponsors Local Soccer Team

Ashton Park (MS) was looking for a unique way to marketing thier property, so they decided to sponsor a local club soccer team this winter. Assistant Manager Taneshia Harrell has a daughter playing on one of the teams in the league, and she and Property Manager Kira Yelverton thought having Ashton Park sponsor a team would be a great way to get in front of a large audience.  The team has the property’s logo on the sleeves, and Kira gave all the parents an Ashton Park tote bag with property flyers and lots of goodies at the first game.  Wonderful job of unique marketing!
