On August 11, 2017, both the Ambling Valdosta and Greenville offices participated in United Way Outreach projects.
The Valdosta office was paired with the American Red Cross during the United Way Day of Caring. Teams were sent out into a high risk neighborhood to go into residences and replace smoke detectors where needed. The goal for the American Red Cross campaign “Sound the Alarm. Save a Life” is to reduce fire-related deaths and injuries in the US by 25% by 2020. The Home Fire Campaign was launched in 2014 and so far has installed 941,916 smoke alarms and saved 260 lives.
The Greenville office was excited to help sort and pack school supplies as they participated in the United Way’s “School Tools” project at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. In addition to volunteering their time, the office members, combined with Ambling’s matching contribution, raised over $400 to purchase supplies for the event. This amount was enough to provide all the requested items for 15 Elementary and 15 Middle school kids plus additional supplies to distribute. The project hopes to provide school supplies to over 4,000 students in the Greenville County Schools system this year.
