Residents at Palmetto Preserve in Palmetto, Georgia, recently received new technology and internet access through a partnership with Compudopt, an organization that provides technology resources and services to underserved communities.

Dre worked with Compudopt to coordinate the program at Palmetto Preserve, ultimately providing 25 residents with free laptops. Each laptop also included a two-year warranty and one year of free internet service, all at no cost to participating residents.

An on-site event was held at Palmetto Preserve where residents were able to pick up their laptops and learn more about the devices and internet services included with the program.

Access to reliable technology and internet service can provide an important connection to employment opportunities, education, online services, communication and other everyday resources. Bringing the program directly to Palmetto Preserve made those resources more easily accessible to residents who could benefit from them.

The event was well received by residents and provided another opportunity for the Palmetto Preserve team to connect the community with resources available in the surrounding area.
