    Mother’s Day Celebrations

Many of our properties hosted Mother’s Day parties to celebrate all the wonderful mother’s who call an Ambling property home.  Some hosted brunches, some properties had snacks and refreshments, while others like Savannah Summit had a wonderful lunch prepared for the residents.  Below are a some pictures from celebrations at Ashton Park (MS), Pelham Village, and Savannah Summit!

    Magnolia Heights Holds Job Fair

Magnolia Heights Apartments hosted a job fair on their campus and had a great response from the community. Representatives from Southern Staffing Services met with over 40 residents and guests in the leasing office where they provided information on current job openings, answered questions about resumes and job skills, and helped with any other job related questions the attendees had. Southern Staffing even provided hot dogs and drinks!

And, it was such a hit that the staffing agency is already making arrangements with Property Manager Samantha Knight to schedule another event later in the year!

Magnolia Heights Gets a Visit from Book Bus

The Newton County (GA) Book Bus made a scheduled stop at Magnolia Heights Apartments in late May and put a bunch of smiles on some faces. The Book Bus travels around the county and stops at certain places where it then gives out free books to members of the community.  Dozens of Magnolia Heights’ youngest residents climbed the steps of the Book Bus, made their selections, and walked out with a bag of books and a big smile! Great job Magnolia Heights for hosting, and special thanks to the Newton County Book Bus for making us a scheduled stop!

    Arcadia Receives Perfect Score

Arcadia Apartments received a perfect score on their Atlanta Housing Authority site inspection. A hard feat to accomplish, the entire staff worked diligently to have everything in tip-top shape for their inspection. The staff consists of: Mattie Pruitt (Property Manager), Melissa Ward (Assistant Manager), Teresa North (Leasing Consultant), Lesha Cook (Leasing Consultant), Kenesia Smith (Leasing Consultant), Joshua Widner (Maintenance Supervisor), Joshua Ferguson (Maintenance Technician), and Coley Ferguson (Maintenance Technician). Great work!

Cypress Park Approved for Meal Program

Cypress Park Apartments (Columbus, MS) was recently approved for a summer meal program hosted and organized by Project Southside, Inc. that provides kids breakfast and lunch for the summer months. Because there are so many children living at the community who are limited with their transportation, the organization is delivering the food to Cypress Park each weekday.  Even better, a wonderful group of Cypress Park residents have volunteered their time and energy to not only help serve the food, but have also taken it upon themselves to organize some group activities for the children during the summer.

    Bay Park Youth Host Speaker

Bay Park Apartments (Bay St. Louis, MS) recently hosted a young speaker who came to give an informative talk to the youth of this community. Ali Barritt,  who hails from Vermont, is doing an internship with the Starfish Cafe, a local non-profit restaurant that hires local men and women and teaches them not only food industry skills, but also people and life skills to be successful. As part of the internship, Ali made her way over to Bay Park and spoke with many of the younger residents and answered many questions on work, life, growing up, importance of school, and much more. Property Manager Kiacha Graves said the children were very receptive to the message and she is hopeful Ali can come back before her time in Mississippi is up and speak with the others who were not able to make it.

    Maintenance Staff’s New Look

The maintenance staffs at all of Ambling’s properties will be getting a new look soon.  Each team member will be getting short sleeve polo shirts and short and long sleeve button down shirts – all with the new Ambling logo patch on the chest. They will also receive khaki shorts, khaki pants, a lined jacket with the Ambling patch for those cold months, and a khaki colored hat with the Ambling patch to top it off.

    Online Payments Have Arrived

Ambling’s online payment option was rolled out to a test group of sites in January, and then to the remaining conventional and tax credit properties in February and March. In the first full month of operation, just over $144,000 was collected through this option, but in June, that figure jumped to $377,157 across our portfolio. We’ve received good feedback from the residents and some of the sites have already seen a decrease in the number of late payments.

    Upcoming News Regarding Ambling T-Shirts

By now, each team member should have received their Ambling t-shirts with our logo.  STAY TUNED on how we plan to use these t-shirts for a FUN PACKED day at work!

    Mini-Model Contest

Regional Vice President Jake Seames is holding a mini-model contest for all the properties in his region. The contest will run until July 18th and will be judged by the corporate staff.  The judges are looking for cleanliness, creativeness in the designs, and anything that will leave a lasting impression with prospects.  Some ideas are to have plates, coffee mugs, etc. in the kitchen/bar area, towels and washcloths in bathroom, balloons and decorations to catch attention, and “silent salesman” props that help sell the property (some examples below).  Also, remember to have applications in the mini-model in case they are needed!  The top three winners will receive prizes, so make your decorations count!
